MetaMEMS Corp. is located
in Newark, NJ. The corporation was started in July 2008 and has filed several patent applications with the United States Patent
and Trademark Office (USPTO) for Intellectual Property (IP) protection. The proprietary idea allows the formation, manipulation
and adjustment of characteristics of MEMS systems offering the ability to create reconfigurable systems for communications,
medicine, optical systems and stability equipment.
As stated on EDCs website: "The NJIT Enterprise Development Center accelerates the successful
development of entrepreneurial companies through an array of business support resources and services, developed or orchestrated
by EDC management, and offered both in the incubator and through its network of contacts. EDC's main goal is to
produce successful firms that will leave the program financially viable and freestanding.
These incubator
"graduates" create jobs, revitalize neighborhoods, commercialize critical new technologies and strengthen local
and national economies. Management guidance and consulting suitable for young, growing companies is critical to our
mission. Our incubator program also provides clients access to appropriate rental space and flexible leases, shared
basic services and equipment, technology support services, and assistance in obtaining these financing necessary to company
growth".
